Canadian Universities for Forensic Science 2019: Promoting Collaboration
The purpose of CUFFS 2019 is to encourage the exchange of forensic science knowledge between professionals from different forensic disciplines and from different academic institutions. We hope to promote collaboration and interdisciplinary work between forensic researchers from all Canadian provinces, so that we can work together to advance the field of forensic science in Canada.
The intended audience for this conference includes undergraduate and graduate students performing research in the forensic sciences, but also forensic science professionals, scientists and university faculty. Concurrently, this conference therefore offers a networking opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to connect with relevant individuals from their respective field, in a more accessible setting than a bigger-scale conference would bring on.
The conference will consist of oral and poster presentations, supplemented by three invited guest speakers: Dr. Frank Crispino, researcher at the Forensics Research Laboratory at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières; JP Duchesne, organizational development section head at the Ontario Centre of Forensic Sciences; and Duncan Way, Forensic Artist for the Ontario Provincial Police.
